How technology has impacted the professional field I am studying at the university?
tecnhnology impact on psychology
Technology during the university career in psychology has had great contributions, especially in times of pandemic where the meeting of students and teachers was not possible, through platforms and applications they were able to have classes, it also has a contribution to the environment since it facilitates books, blogs, guides, virtual essays to avoid wasting paper. It also helps people who must work while studying, can be educated or can learn through videos or recorded classes. technology has been an important addition to the professional work of psychologists, since it allows the permeability and access of mental health in isolated regions, through the ability to have synchronous meetings, which was quite difficult before the current pandemic began, being thus a positive implementation in the current context On the other hand, one of the disadvantages would be the limitation of interpersonal relationships, which is very important for the development of certain communication skills of the human being, however, it also influences the different forms of learning where in certain cases some people prefer virtuality . In general terms, the pandemic left new challenges and ways to adapt to the constant change and evolution of technology.
false memory research
Memory is a cognitive system that allows us to record, store, process and retrieve information about what we experience, on some occasions with high levels of precision and on others with dangerous inaccuracies. The latter have been called False Memories and have captured the interest of researchers for at least the last two decadesOne of the characteristics of human memory is that it stores small significant elements of memories; In other words, it stores "general ideas" of the plot of a story and the rest of it has to be inferred or reconstructed. False memories can be created in this process of reconstruction of history
Elizabeth F. Loftus has focused most of her research on the psychological and legal aspects of distorted or false memories. In a series of studies, she has shown how easily memories and beliefs can be shaped. She demonstrated that eyewitness testimony is often unreliable and subject to contamination and manipulation. In some of her best-known work, she has shown that false memories can be activated in people simply through the power of suggestion. Thus, researchers have tried to investigate memories that have not been well formed and see how the brain deals with them
The six-year study shows that the same mechanism that updates bad memories can also seriously distort them if it occurs in the wrong situation. "Surprisingly, we found that the same process can, in some circumstances, lead to incorrect memory updating. We also identified a molecular mechanism, called reconsolidation, that could be mediating this process. Sometimes a poorly formed memory can be mistakenly reactivated in a similar, but irrelevant situation. The brain can then update the memory of that irrelevant situation, making the memory incorrect, instead of creating a new and completely different memory of the new situation."
This research issue is fascinating, although it is not certain that it works in humans, they have only practiced with mice, it would be a great contribution both to science and to directing these updating mechanisms therapeutically to treat memory and anxiety disorders where memory formation is poor as the findings show that memory updating mechanisms that are activated after recall can refine and enhance recall.
educational neuroscience
Uniting researchers from educational psychology, cognitive neuroscience, educational technology, and other disciplines, this emerging field focuses on the interactions between biological processes and education. Researchers in educational neuroscience examine the neural mechanisms of reading, math comprehension, attention, as well as such learning disabilities as dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.
Good job, the blog allows us to understand what tools have been developed for learning, especially in psychology.
ResponderBorrarThe Blog is very well done, has very clear information and we can see how technology influenced positively during the pandemia.
ResponderBorrarThe positive aspects mentioned in the blog shows the advantage we had during the time of pandemic to continue learning and communicating with the world
ResponderBorrarThis blog has very important and precise information that gives us to know about the impact of technology in different áreas.
ResponderBorrarI agree with your opinions and I like the idea of helping the environment through digital tools
ResponderBorrarCould you mention what are the contributions of technology during the university career?
ResponderBorrarI'm agree about What You Say, but You may use more commas
ResponderBorrarWhat specific technological contributions have helped during the study of psychology?
ResponderBorrargood blog, it shows what has really been experienced in the pandemic, psychology and technology have been the key during the pandemic to prevent a high rate of suicides, hopefully they will create more pages with free psychological help.
ResponderBorrarHello, I found interesting the importance of the advantages and disadvantages that technology has had in relation to psychology
